Reflexology is based on the idea that certain points on the soles, tops and sides of the feet, hands, face and ears (reflex points) correspond to the organs and tissues throughout the body.
Changes in temperature, texture, colour and sensitivity of the reflex points are noted by your reflexologist, who then works quietly with trained, sensitive hands to bring about better flow and balance throughout the body and mind.
Many people come for reflexology simply for the wonderfully deep relaxation and feel good factor this therapy gives them. Reflexology can help ease stress, pain relief, sleep disturbances and many other areas of dis-ease.
~
The gentle pressure of touch is used all over the feet (or hands, face, ears). As the body is mirrored in, and on, these areas, the benefits of reflexology actually include the whole person, body, mind and spirit, not just the presenting symptoms.

Reflexologists cannot cure, diagnose or prescribe.
Please allow one and a half hours.
Firstly, you will fill in a health consultation form, which we can discuss, to ensure the suitability of reflexology for you.
If foot reflexology is chosen, you will remove your shoes and socks. For hand, facial or auricular reflexology it only needs your hands, face or ears! You will then be made comfortable and warm on the reflexology chair or couch.
This is where you can relax and really enjoy the sensation of reflexology.
Water will be offered at the close of the session whilst we chat through our findings and whether follow up sessions are recommended..
It is strongly advised to maintain good hydration and plan a quiet day whenever possible following reflexology.
Please allow one hour.
We will review any changes that have occurred since your last visit, and ask about your well being today, before agreeing on a plan for the session.
It is usual for the effects of reflexology to be cumulative, with clients often noticing the full benefits after four or more sessions.
This depends entirely on each individuals starting place of course.
Reflexology is not suitable if you have;
As individuals we will all feel different during and after reflexology.
Most people experience a profound sense of deep relaxation and peace during reflexology.
For some people, this can take a number of sessions as areas on your feet may initially be tender. (This can be seen as a positive sign of those areas becoming more functional).
Some people may experience tiredness, aches or cold like symptoms, for a day or two afterwards, which may or may not be related to the reflexology (or just life itself!).
Please discuss how you feel with me.
Kind words from my lovely clients
Always a highlight. Over time I see that my ability to relax deeper has improved, and I do feel like my mental and physical health has benefitted. Having tried the facial reflexology I will be booking it again!
Alison is a very caring and understanding person, who's knowledge and skill makes the experience very beneficial and rewarding.
